I FINALLY FOUND THE SECRET

gilmore-girls3

After all these years of searching for the perfect weight loss plan, I’ve finally found it.  Are ya’ll ready for this?

Gilmore Girls, ice cream and coffee.

Allow me to explain.

Daughter #2 had a tonsillectomy last Thursday.  We were warned in advance and every day since when I call the doctor to question a new development that the healing process for an adult is much harder and takes much longer than when the very same procedure is performed on a child.  No one seems to be able to explain why but I am here to tell you it is true.  The poor thing is 8 days out and still suffering quite a bit.  I’m still sleeping with her as she has to have medication during the night and I’m the designated nurse.

*Let’s all take a moment of silence to pray for poor D2 who must not only suffer through the pain but also my sorely lacking nursing skills.*

So D2 and I are doing some serious bonding while we lie in bed watching all seven seasons of Gilmore Girls, eat ice cream and drink coffee.  Well…..I’m drinking coffee.  D2 is mixing it into her ice cream……which by the way is very, very good.

Anyway, back to the topic at hand.  Whether it’s is the lack of sleep, stress and worry or a miraculous combination of Lorelai, Rory, coffee and ice cream, I’ve lost 8 lbs.  I’m not going to question it.  I’m going to embrace it.

Got to go.  Another episode is starting and I can’t find my ice cream scoop.

Oh absolutely, do not question it! It could alert the universe to something gone wonderfully awry, and then SNAP, suddenly you're 8 pounds heavier. Just in case it's catching, I'm going to go find me some coffee ice cream!

Best wishes for a speedier recovery for D2.

I love Gilmore Girls!!!!

Hope D2 feels better soon.

I had my tonsils out when I was 2 or so. I don't remember much except afterward they gave me strawberry ice cream and apple juice.

To this day I can not stand either one of those things. The smell alone makes me gag!

Enjoy your bonding time. You are an awesome mom...even if your nursing skills are lacking...lol.

My mother would NEVER do what you are doing for your daughter...EVER!

You....ROCK!!! ♥

Now, I could get on board with that. Besides all that coffee would keep me awake and wired up cleaning house like a mad woman.
Sure hope D2 is feeling much better now. She has a great nurse.

Even I could stick with a diet like that! I hope D2 gets to feeling better soon! Eight days is a long time.

Do NOT question it! I love the Gillmore girls and while drinking coffee and eating icecream? Heaven! Now I am anxious to try icecream with some coffee in it...my breakfast? Hope she feels better soon!

Quickly, write a book about it and you'll make millions!

Yes, I agree with Jason! Write the Gilmore Girls ice cream coffee diet cookbook and add in Lucyisms and you'll be RICH!!

But don't forget the little people who encouraged you and stood behind you all the way. HUGS

I've lost exactly 8 lbs because I'm too lazy to pack food before I go to work. So I basically starve on my breaks. Ha!

I just had a bowl of ice cream in honor of you and D2... and hoping she feels better soon! I'm sure you are an awesome mom aka nurse, but maybe she wants her bed back to herself??!

It is certainly interesting for me to read this blog. Thanks for it. I like such themes and everything connected to them. I would like to read a bit more soon.

Fell off my chair on that one! Sending my healing thoughts to "D2". I think I will give it a try as soon as I finish this plate of chocolate chip cookies and Howards gift basket from his daughter! Doubt I will lose any 8 pounds though. GOOD for you, whatever the cause.

When one is ill...even the sound of your voice is a great part of helping the healing process. NO, really, I mean it. Grown or not grown..I don't think that ever goes away. She will remember this time when she is old...believe me.
So enjoy! (Well, you know what I mean!)

Can I get that from Netflex? :) The Gillmore Girls, I mean?
Hugs,
Mona

I've never watched the Gilmore Girls, but I love coffee icecream. Only whenever I eat the ice cream I get fatter... Do you think it is the GG factor I have been missing all these years?

Yikes I had that operation when I was 18 and it was absolute hell on earth. I had to sleep almost sitting up for several weeks coz everytime I would recline, I'd start to choke. Hurt like a #%^%%. Ice cream is the ticket - wish I'd had Gilmore Girls back then too. sigh.. Hope all is better now!
