“K” IS FOR “KRAZY

I've been coming across several alphabet memes over the last week or so. First Yankee Chick challenged readers to take a shot at getting their own alphabet. I was in the middle of my Christmas melt-down and didn't feel up to the task so I passed. Then Stepping Through beckoned to us to give it a whirl. Again I passed as I had the next several posts planned with recipes. Now Midlife Slices is playing and with my recipes posted, I thought this might be just the quick post to rattle of so I can finish my shopping a lot of fun. I posted a comment on her blog and was assigned the letter "K". MLS is a good friend of mine and I think she is yanking my chain because "K" is a really hard letter to play with" saved this fabulous letter for me because she loves me so much.

"K", hmmmmmmmmm? Let me think. OK, I think I've got it.

Ten Things That I Love That Start With "K":

  1. Kids, Mine and all the rest
  2. Kevin! The line in Home Alone. We have a Kevin in our life and I can't say his name at this time of year without wanting to say it like she does in the movie. And sometimes I do.
  3. Key.Lime.Pie!
  4. Kris Kringle. I never call the BIG GUY this but MLS gave me K and there you go….
  5. Kings, the three of them. They give great gifts like gold, frankincense and myrrh.
  6. Kettles, tea. I love tea kettles! Even more than tea, I think.
  7. Knocks on the door, when they are followed by a treasured friend or family member entering our home.
  8. Ketel One ads. I've never actually had Ketel One that I recall but I love their magazine ads because they are so clever.
  9. Kris Kristofferson and his very sexy voice.
  10. Kayaks. We took a trip down the Chattahoochee River with The Rocket Scientist and The Trophy Wife and had so much fun. OK, it was really Kanoes, not Kayaks.

Leave a comment if you want to play and I will assign you a letter. If you don't want to play, you can still leave a comment. *wink*

Now I've got to get back to making this:

And decorating this:

And shopping for these:

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays, everybody!

With love from Smart Mouth Broad!

Great K's. A little aside. Kris Kristofferson lives in Hana Maui and his kids do theatre, where their musical director is my very dear friend.

Christmas looks like it is coming along nicely over there in the Smart Mouth household.

Great job on making a K list! Your treats look yummy...my goodness you are busy with all this treat making. Have fun decorating your tree and shopping. I am already playing the game and was assigned the letter D...this game was kinda fun. It's been fun to see the words everyone is coming up with!

VM-xoxoxo to YOU!

Pseudo-That is very cool. I'll have to ask Smitty if he's ever seen him on Maui.

Also dying to know if you were able to find the candy coating and make the white trash.

Smiles-I got your comment on my phone while shopping. You encouraged me to keep on getting it done. I'll have to check out your D's. I haven't been able to read near as much as I want to. Thinking that things might be a bit more calm after tonite. I hope.

Well. I found the candy coating. Online. The craft stores over here - no. So, the White Trash is next week for family friends after the online shopping arrival. I bought Ghiradeli Dark Chocolate and made dark chocolate trash for my colleagues and the office staff, but I'm not sure how PC it is to mix racial metaphors. But I made myself sick eating it while I bagged it yesterday. It's awefully good.

Mmmm, is that party mix? It looks delicious. And your tree is fantastic!

I'm going to make some white trash stuff this week. I'm not sure what the candy coating is though, is that like the meltable chocolate?

Smart Mouth Broad said...

Pseudo-So sorry you had to go to all this trouble to get the coating. Yikes. I hope you think it's worth it after all this. We have tried it with dark chocolate (my favorite, normally) too but I really prefer the white for trash.

GF-That's the white trash I've been making by the truckloads. The tree is our new artificial one. The kids are giving me a hard time but they aren't at home anymore to do the tree hunting and every night for the last two weeks, MHS and I look at each other and say, "You want to go tonite?" "Nah" So we opted for the tree in the box at Costco. I love it!

Kathy-It is like white chocolate but if you use white chocolate chips, they do not melt smoothly. It is the stuff that you use to make candy molds and almond bark. The brand at our local grocer, Publix is Eagle brand. I also got something from Walmart that actually says almond bark on the wrapper but there is no almond flavoring in it. You can also use the wafers that come in a bag at the craft stores. You can email me if you have any questions. Pseudo (above message) had to order it online as she lives in Hawaii and they don't have all the variety we have here on the mainland.

OH stop your whining. K is not hard. What about Kisses.....or Kudos......or Kookies.....or Kites......Kickers (football)......or o.k. you get the message. gaw. You're probably still walking around the mall in a daze, right? Call if you need rescued because you know I'm the one who can do that. *wink*

I made white trash last night!! :)

In Holland a K list would be very easy:
I must decorate my KERSTBOOM and write KERSTKAARTEN. Now I am going to make myself a KOP KOFFIE. KAN you translate that? LOL

I got assigned the letter T and I'm working on that one right now.

OK. I think I'm up to the task. If there are any letters left in the alphabet I'll take one... Be gentle!

Good job on the 'k's...i will try to get mine up tonite. Although i will have to go back and check again to see what letter i was assigned cos i can't remember. It's too cold to live here right now...sitting and listening to the winds whistling around the windowpanes and thinking that THIS! is the day to take a paperwork day and stay home and cozy. I'm sure it's fabulous and warm where you are right now. Have another piece of Key Lime pie and pray that my power doesn't go out or i'm coming to visit, dergs and all.

ooh...i just had one of those weird deja vu moments...spooky...i need to go and google what that means....

MLS-It really wasn't so bad once I got started. I can't believe I completely forgot about kisses. Shame on me.

24-What did you think? Did your family love it?

RW-I'm going to try to guess: You have to decorate your Christmas tree and write your Christmas cards. Now you're going to have your morning cup of coffee. How did I do?

Bear-I will look forward to you "t"things.

QTP-I'm giving you "S" as it is the letter that links us. *MUAHHH!*

Thistle-Come on down. Chez Smart Mouth is always open for business. Now you've got me really curious about your deja vu! Do tell.

K Dubs said...

Ahhhhhhhh - gotcha. I know exactly what you're talking about now! Thank you! And if Pseudo has a complaint about ordering it online, she only needs to walk outside. And remember that everywhere else it's cold. REALLY COLD. brrrrrr
I've got no sympathy. LOL

You did great! The Dutch language has no secrets for you anymore!! WELKOM to my country!

Where do you jump into the Chattahoochie at? I'm not far from it!

Knocks on the door around this time of year usually turns me into a cynic ;) Well, more so than I already am!

Lo said...

SMB, give me a letter!!!!!!!!!! i want to play too!!!!

oh and someone at work stashed a huge ziploc freezer bag full of that stuff you're making in the first photo- WHAT IS IT? a sort of modified chex mix???

Smart Mouth Broad said...

Kathy-Be sure to let me know how you like the white trash.

RW-Does this mean that I can tell people I'm fluent in Dutch now? LOL

Slick-We were attending a wedding at Ft. Benning and staying at a cabin just off post. Somewhere near Columbus. And....you...cynical? Nahhhh...

Lo-You can blame D2 if you don't like this one. Your letter is V. I know you'll do it proud!

The picture is of a few batches of White Trash. I posted the recipe last week for. Look for White Trash Christmas. It's yummy! It's like white chocolate covered chex mix.

Great Meme! Nicely done. I so agree about Kris Krisofferson. *sigh*. Beautiful tree too. :)

Your list is kool and all that Christmas preparation looks like you're way ahead of the game, or at least way ahead of me :o)

Looks like you've got Christmas well under control at your place.

Smart Mouth Broad said...

Mama-I was gaga over Kris K in the movie A Star is Born. *sigh* You should see the tree now. It has ornaments and everything. I'll have to get out the camera again.

Tricia-Oh, believe me, I am way behind!

Geri-Looks can be deceiving. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you'll come back again to visit.
