OOOooo, BABY, HE KNOWS WHAT I LIKE

anniversary1

Today is the 29th anniversary of the day I married the love of my life, apple of my eye and sometimes pain in my arse, My Harley Stud. It totally blows my mind that we have been married that long especially since I’m only thirty-two years old. Stop trying to do the math and just leave it at yes, I was a child bride. If you’re a long time reader, you may have read our true love story here in my archives and you know that we have been together even longer than that. People often ask me, “How can you stay married to the same man for all those years?”

The answer is simple. First of all, he is no longer the same man that I married. I have molded and shaped him into a completely different creature. He and I have both grown and matured into different people who just happen to still be nuts about each other.

To celebrate the occasion, MHS took me to breakfast and then to the beach. Not wanting to be saddled with my camera for our beach walk on this day, I left it in the car. Damn! Of course today was the day I saw so many picture takishly things. I’ll try to paint you a picture.

The sky was the most amazing blue with lots of puffy white clouds low on the horizon which looked like their tops were sliced off. I could have called my friend the meteorologist to ask what they are called or googled but it’s my anniversary and I’m lazy. Not to be outdone by the sky, the water was a beautiful aqua color. The tide was going out and the waves were high which made the roar of the surf even louder than usual. There were surfers and boogie boarders. Some of the surfers had an oar. I don’t know what this activity is called but I think I saw Matt Lauer do it on the today show once. It was fun to watch.

Because we live in an area of South Florida that is primarily residential and not a tourist spot, most of the beaches allow dogs. There were lots of dogs today. Each one with a tennis ball or they made their fun chasing birds. MHS and I made friends with a few canines, once again making me wish we had brought Mayzie. She loves the beach but isn’t allowed in the bagel store.

We live on the East coast. At 9am-ish, the sun was shining over the water and it was beautiful. There was a flock of seven pelicans that flew in a straight line overhead. The smell of MHS’s aftershave kept teasing my nostrils. Then my sniffer upper became a little more discerning and I realized that what I was smelling was his deodorant. Still, he smelled good. The sights, the smells, the sounds. They made my day.

No trip to the beach is complete without sighting a man in a speedo and this adventure was no exception. Why? And not even an attractive body. Just sayin.

The beach is lined with seagrapes that obscure the view from the road to the beach and vicey versey. That didn’t stop MHS from hearing a pack of Harley Davidsons ride by. The beach isn’t really MHS’s thing and I’m sure the thought crossed his mind that he’d rather be riding. Nevertheless, he knows what I like and brought me to the beach. My sanctuary.

Despite the Speedo Man sighting, it was an awesome morning and a great way to start our anniversary.

What would your perfect day be?

Hugs,
Smart Mouth Broad

Happy Anniversary, you crazy kids! I think it's wonderful that you are still so in love. As for a perfect day, yours sounds pretty darn good to me. Maybe throw in a six-pack of Corona.

Happy Anniversary to you both. I love your description, and of course, you were a child bride.

The other half and I would be hiking in the woods. Or sitting on some rocks in a waterfall. With snacks. And a fancy hotel room waiting for us when the hiking is done...

Hmm. Next weekend is his b.day. I should do that for him. Can I ship Danger boy off to you for safekeeping?

Aside from the Speedo sighting, the picture you painted was pretty spectacular. I love that he chose to take you someplace that touches your soul.

It's very rare to have such a long lasting and vital marriage. I'm thrilled for you! Happy Anniversary!!!

I'm not sure exactly what would be my perfect day, but it would not include a Speedo man sighting :)

Happy Anniversary!

Oh, Happy Anniversary SMB and MHS!

I dunno...the day you described is pretty perfect. I think any day you celebrate the fact that you've been married to someone you're still crazy about after 29 years would be, well, perfect.

I guess my day would be perfect if my name was MHS! :)haha!

Happy anniversary! I love a good love story, and yours is a good one!

Well clearly you were a child-bride, DUH! Congratultions! Sounds like a perfect day to me (altho those Coronas the first commenter suggested sound good too).

How can you be married 29 years when I thought you were only 29???? Happy Anniversary to you and your stud. Now that I am married to my husband I can totally see how someone can be married that long. I still think it's pretty cool that you guys are still nuts about each other and do all the things that you do together.

Sounds like a perfect day. You described it so well that I can picture it without your pictures.(I can do without seeing a man in speedo anyways...lol)The day you describes sounds so wonderful that I would have to say that would be a perfect day. Plus I love the ocean!

Dang! Why didn't you tell me i was interrupting your anniversary with my texts? Happy Anniversary to the most awesomest *yes that's a word because I say it's a word* couple I know.

btw, Mozilla Firefox tells me I've misspelled awesomest and it should be gruesomest. :)

Love ya both!!!! I'm proposing a toast to the last 29 years and hoping there will be at the very least, 29 more years to come. HUGS

Happy Anniversary!!!!

Congrats on 29 and for being a childbride and childgroom cause I know that DHS had to be a child too.

Your day does sound perfect, well you know except the speedo thingy, which still makes one wonder why they wear them, when obviously no one is impressed with them, but then again the men that wear them must not always be working with a full deck upstairs. Speedos should only be sold with the condition that they are to worn in private. This would probably be one thing the government could control, and no one would object.

Glad you had a wonderful day and may you have many, many more for years to come.

God bless.

Congrats to you two!

What a sensitive person MHS is to take you to the beach to begin your celebrations. Next time though, try to keep your nose out of his armpit.

Happy Anniversary! My perfect day would be much like yours except with my Hillbilly. Lucky for me he likes the beach too. Unlucky for me, the beach is to far from my house to just go for a few hours. Thanks for the play by play. It was almost like being there!

Happy Anniversary SMB! I cannot believe you have been married almost 30 of your 32 years. Thank goodness our society doesn't do those child bride marriages anymore. You're just really lucky yours worked out.

My perfect day would be any day I am not at work...and maybe not actually in Sudan. My bar has lowered considerably these days.

Congrats on your anniversary. I already miss walkling on the beach. I think Linda likes the beach even more than I do. Maybe next time we will be at "your coast" and will get a chance to meet.

I'm so glad your day was special - 29 years is wonderful - we are coming up on 27 and I can't believe it either! My perfect day is any day that includes Devoted Spouse in it doing anything at all, even just sitting in the family room each of us reading a book. Of course a beach would be nice too - but here I sit in cold OH dreaming of moving South...sigh...

My perfect day would be to spend just one more minute on this earth with the man I adored! Our relationship began as teens like yours did. I 've stopped crying, at least most of the time...and there is no bargaining, but if I could have one perfect day, it would be with him.
I feel lucky to have had a love like that as I know it is rare..and you are experiencing it.
It makes me smile! :)

Hahahahahaha! Congratulations on your 29th. I think it is very cool he took you to the beach. They can be very thoughtful when molded well.

Happy Anniversary! How thoughtful of him to take you to the beach. I love it when men actually THINK a little about their gestures of love. And, of course, you know how I feel about the beach ....

Well, it's all been said..Happy Anniversary to an amazing couple! I think my perfect day would be just like yours. However, since we live MANY hundreds of miles from the ocean, I will just settle for an entire day with Coach doing nothing but relishing our life together.

Awwww. Happy Anniversary to you crazy kids.

I only like the beach in the very early morning.

My perfect day? To be left perfectly and utterly alone from sun up to sun down, no human interaction at all thankyouverymuch.
