MORE HAIR AND LESS ME

Photo shoot Symmetrical

Four score and seven years ago, I did a photo-shoot for my sister-in-law and brother-in-law photographers. It was the era of big hair, parachute pants and scrunchies. My naturally thin and limp hair was permed and poofed to unbelievable heights never again seen since that decade.

My Harley Stud was cleaning out his old car the other day and came across this photograph. He apparently kept it in the car for quick reference should he momentarily forget what I looked like. He made it a point to show everyone in the house the picture so we could all remember a time when I was wrinkle-free and ever so much thinner thanks to a J*zzericise career.

My Daisy, my father’s new wife, said, “Who is that?” I raised my eyebrows and gave her “the look”. “Is that yooooouuuu, Smart Mouth?” After a few more looks back and forth, she conceded that indeed she could see a bit of me in there.

Daisy showed the picture to Daddy, who of course knew me then so he recognized the image as me immediately and followed with…….”Oh yeah, Smart Mouth used to be really thin. She even had to drink beer to keep weight on.” Yes.I.Did. I told my father I “had to” drink beer. I guess I could have drunk milk.

Later, the photograph was shown to my niece, Smart Mouth in Training. She carefully inspected the image before her and looked me square in the eye and said, “Wow, Aunt Smart Mouth, you used to be pretty.”

I think I’m going to start drinking beer again.

Hugs,
Smart Mouth Broad

Oh swee'pea you need to learn Croneandbearit's rule number 27: Never Never look at old pictures that make you think you might have been better than you are right this very minute! Yes, it's a drop dead gorgeous shot of you, but you are also one drop dead gorgeous lady today! And just think how much smarter we are now...we are smarter aren't we? Oh gawd I need some wine now...

I don't believe it for one moment. She doesn't look 'Smart Mouthed' enough...

I hate looking at my old photos too. *sighs* cuz time just keeps marching along and taking me with it. If I could just get rid of the wrinkles under the eyes and 20 pounds around the muffin bin I'd be one happy gal. You're not alone.

Remember how long it took to look that great? Want to do that again?
Don't put yourself down everyone changes some. At least you still have hair! My bet is that you are more beautiful now and I don't think I am wrong. So SMB the next time you are sad when you see that beautiful girl she was just you in training!

I find it amazing when I look at old photos and remember I thought I was fat at the time. I wish I was *that fat* now!

My daughters favorite line is "you *used* to be cool! What happened??" Jerks. They made me uncool. And fat. Grrr.

Hahaha....when I got to that last sentence, I had the biggest belly laugh and Abby came running in to see what was so funny. You were beautiful then and you are beautiful now....inside and out.

Don't you just love when well meaning people say things thinking they are paying a compliment but it makes you want to slap them silly? I had the same thing happen this weekend so it will make a great short post. thanks for the reminder. MUAH....and hugs to my beautiful friend.

C&B-Yes, we are so smart. Really. Where's my beer?

Blahzay-Oh trust me. That girl had a smart mouth.

Di-ACK! The Muffin Bin! ACK, ACK!

Demainca-I remember it was lovely. I had a make-up artist. I love being messed with. You could fluff and puff me all day. Love it. Now if I could just get that guy to come over every morning to do my face for the day.

BV- I love you!

Bambi-Daughters! My pride and joy. My headache and pain in the arse. D1 told me that she forgets how old I am because I hide it so well. Uh....thanks....I think.

Kimberly-I think I DO have some even bigger hair pics. Another post, another day.

Auntie-Size fours were big then. *sigh*

Movie-I do remember that Pseudo post. Fun stuff. But we didn't know what she looked at all then. It might be easier now that we know how dad-gum beautiful she is.

Brian-Aww, thanks.

MLS-Looking forward to that post. Misery loves company, you know.

Otie- You are too kind, my dear.

Look at you looking so smokin hot...lol...very nice picture of you...but just remember all that you've been through to get to "here". You are still beautiful...still smokin hot...just a different, more mature, wise beauty that goes much deeper. You could always go back to a career in J*zzercise...lol. :) XX Lori

Hay, a backhanded compliment is still a compliment. I get those "used to" compliments but am just glad that at least.. I "used to." Lot better than "never was".
You are still a puppy and great looking and in 20 years, people will look at your photo from today and say, "Gee,SMB, you used to..."
Grin and bear it.

If that's really an old photo of you SM, you look a bit like Sarah Jessica Parker, without the really sharp chinline.

Yeah, I think I would have kicked Harley Stud in the butt for showing any old photos around!

I went back and looked at the picture you posted with your daughter.

What's the difference, besides it's black and white and you have curly hair?

Beautiful photo. But I'll bet if you take one today, and look at it in 20 years, you'll be thinking the same thing...

It's a nice photo, but I wouldn't go back to those days for anything. We only get better as we mature!

Wow drop dead gorgeous is right then and now ( I don't think MY LINDA will see this comment)As far as HAIR I keep mine cut really short that way there isn't so much white. LOL

Ahh, my condolences on that comment!

I had a gal at the office tell me, on my 45th birthday, that I looked "good" for "my age". For my age?! I look good period, little miss not-so-good-for-early-20s!
