MY VIRTUAL VACATION – Courtesy of The Saint

I received a text message from my friend, The Saint, last Monday. (If you’re new here, you can check out my MAKING OF A BIKER CHICK posts in my sidebar and get to know her and the Biker Nazi better.) The message read:

Wish you were here.

The Saint

I quickly replied, “Me too. Where is here?” I assumed that she wasn’t at work or she wouldn’t be wishing I was there. I WAS at work so I was wishing to be ANYWHERE else.

She replied with, “South Dakota.”

I asked who she was with. She told me, “The Biker Nazi.”

Just the BN, I asked? She confirmed. I told her she was either very brave or crazy. She told me that he was already threatening to send her home. And she was leaning toward crazy over brave.

Well, what the ……? No one discussed this trip with me! Where was my invitation? Apparently I’ve opened my smart mouth once too often and have been voted off the island. Did I wish I was there? You bet your sweet bippy whatever that is I did! Of course the truth is that had we been invited, we wouldn’t have been able to go but still… I pouted. The BN and TS were having fun and I wasn’t. How could that be fair?

I had my 3 second pity party and was over it. I asked her to send me a picture a day so I would feel like I was there with them. And because we did this trip with them two years ago, it almost feels like I am there as I receive the photos.

The photos look great on my phone but they are a little grainy now that I’ve sent them to my computer. Even so, they are beautiful! Allow me to share:

Mount Rushmore Mount Rushmore is one of my favorites! The history of this whole area is so interesting.

Cody Museum I guess without me there, they probably didn’t risk being asked to leave this time.

Cody Museum Kent

Awwww, look! The Biker Nazi made a friend.

Looks like they have a lot in common!

BearTooth PassLook at the snow at the top of BearTooth Pass! In JULY!

Glacier Park MT This is Glacier Park, Montana. We didn’t make it this far on our trip two years ago. It was on the agenda but we ran out of time.

Someday……………*sigh*

Hugs,

Mount rushmore is totally sexual innuendo! First of all, there is the word "Mount", and then there is the fact that there are four rock hard men! LOL! They really are great pictures! I wish I could tour the US more than I have.

Wow!! Just beautiful. I plan to go out west in the summers after my boys are older and off to college. I need to enjoy my long summer break with more trips.

Trips are on the top of my list to spend my $$$ on.

Wow! I've never been out West. Memphis is the furthest I've been, except an unexpected trip to California as a child, when my parents were thinking of relocating.

Great pictures! Makes me wantta buy a Bike!!!! But then I'd have to learn to ride it in traffic. . . and well let's just say that could be not worth the risk!

First, LMAO at Otin's comment!!

Second, so sorry you're not where and with whom you want to be but at least you're getting daily photos that you can share with us... whoopee!

Like Hit40, I want to travel out west; been thinking a lot about it lately.

Yes, I've been out to Glacier and it's exquisite. I love seeing the country so much!

That looks so pretty and relaxing I'd be willing to ride on a motorcycle to see it.

Is that how it all gets started?

You know, we see so much desert and rocky hill country, and we are so freakin' busy just trying to get by in life that it's all too easy to forget that there are these vast pockets of beauty just up the road. Those are great pictures and make me long for a road trip up north. Far north. If only I already had my dream coach, I could be there. (sigh) One of these days!

That WAS very rude of him to go without the life of the party. That's one part of the country I've never visited but someday I shall.....just not on the back of a Harley. *sigh*

Whenever I see photos like these, I realize I need to tour my own country. There is so much right here in the good ol' USA.

Great photos but no fair!!! Seeing them makes me realize how much of this country I haven't seen.

Wow how fun is that?? The only thing better than a virtual vacation is... uh... a real one I guess! :) Looks like they're having a blast. And you'll get to Glacier Peak someday. :)

I love South Dakota. One of the best trips we ever took. Glacier? Flew over it on the way to Alaska. I'd love to go there.

At least your friend let you travel vicariously with her.

*sigh* I sure wish I was there too. I've been having this unbearably strong desire to head back to Yellowstone and Montana again. It's been too long since I've been there. I love it so there. I'll probably have to settle for a road trip home to Ohio in Sept (maybe) to visit family. *sigh, again*
