TIME TO MYSELF

HomeAlone
Tonight is one of those rare nights that I have the whole house to myself.  Daughter #1 is out on a date and My Harley Stud is on a playdate with one of his friends.  (He LOVES it when I say that)
Sometimes it’s really good to have some alone time.  It gives you a chance to do some things you can’t or don’t do when the rest of the clan is around.  You can watch what you want on television.  You can eat what you want.  You can play on the computer without hearing complaints or comments that, “The whole house could blow up and she wouldn’t notice if she is on the computer.”  I can’t help it if I’m focused, now can I?
So now that I’m alone:  What should I do?  I’ve got so many options that I can’t seem to pick one.
What do you do with your “me” time?

I am on my own tonight too. The boy went to bed early and other half is home and sick.

I chatted w/ a girlfriend uninterrupted for over an hour. I love having time to do things like that.

Have fun tonight, SMB!

I'm single. All my time is "me" time. ;)

I guess I'm another lucky one with lots of "me" time. Good thing too. I am one busy gal. There's not enough hours in the day to do everything I want to do. Today has been blog catch-up day. ;)

Hope you do something really fun and just enjoy your "me" time!

When I'm totally alone in the house, I want absolute silence to prevail so I don't turn on the TV, sterio or radio but grab my latest book and curl up on the couch where I stay until the noise returns.

I don't remember my last little bit of alone-me time.

I would probably just wind up staring at the ceiling or something...unless there was a really good sappy movie on (-:

When it's just me, I sit and knit and eat M&M's. Simple luxuries.

I draw. I go outside and take picures. I cook. I clean. I draw. I blog. I draw. Any time I can sit and dream with my pencil is good time.

Sounds like you had a great day!

I revel in the quiet time alone in the house. Comes more often than when the kids were younger. I go on the computer uninterrupted, watch TV that only I might enjoy, read, or chat on the phone.

Occasionally, I draw a bath, light candles, the whole peace out.

Hope your night was wonderful SMB ; -)

"Me time" means I have the night off from cooking. This only happens when Hillbilly goes on an overnight fishing trip. I usually have a bowl of cereal for dinner and watch chick flicks. I hope your alone time was great.

Me time is so precious, sometimes when Me time arrives, I have so many things I could do, I end up doing none of them, and hanging out here -- on the computer that is (sometimes here). Before long I'll have more Me time than I can handle, I'm thinking, cuz daughter and I will be going into separate houses in June. (sigh) All by myself... hear that song? All by myself...

I enjoy a quiet house during my "me" time. I usually piddle around--do a little bit of this and a little bit of that. I also talk to myself a lot! :) Oh, and I sing.

What is this "time to myself" you speak of?

One the rare occasion it happens (it's been almost two years?), I turn off ALL of the electronics - no television, no iPod, no stereo, no cell phone, anything that makes noise - and listen to the quiet.

Ahhhhh....'Me' time. It's a rare commodity for sure! I usually catch up on my favorite shows that stack up on my DVR or enjoy the solitude and read a book with a glass of wine. ;)

Having spent the week recuperating on my couch, I think I've finally had my fill of alone time for awhile...
But boy it's been sweet. Reading, catching up on TV, the Times, and now, finally, back to blogging.
Missed you all!
And love your list of Happy.

My wife Linda went to a slumber party last Sat. Things sure were quiet but I sure enjoyed the extra "noise" when she got home LOL

I drink rum and coke, talk to my dog and read blogs and then travel sites and daydream about where I want to travel to, or my next cruise.

I remember when I first got married I'd *hate* it when hubby and kids were gone. Now I long for it. Usually I'll have a glass of wine by the fire (or pool), read (books or blogs, it doesn't matter), snuggle with the dogs (always good), and try not to think about what I *should* be doing.

Hope you had a wonderful night!

I get "me" time on Wed afternoons and on Thurs when Devoted Spouse does his volunteer work. Sometimes I lay on the couch and watch old sci-fi movies. Sometimes I read. Sometimes I go out to a seafood restaurant and eat all the seafood I can possibly hold (he HATES seafood) and most of the time I just mope around until he returns.

I usually end up farting most of it away. I putter around doing this and that. I do read, or blog unfettered by others. Sometimes I watch a movie no one else would watch. Write. Definitely don't clean or do anything in that area. Too many options as well. Never have trouble entertaining myself. I suppose that is good. Right?

Sometimes I just have a horrible time trying to decide what to do! TV show, movie, bake something, read one of many books, crochet, cross-stitch, play piano....sometimes I am so befuddled I don't do anything and end up wasting the time. I HATE that. Especially when I was supposed to be walking or running for my health and then it gets dark or something. It used to be worse, but now that I've had some practice it's not so bad...I am starting to know what I feel like doing. How's that for you?

It's quite sad really because I have a perfectly wonderful scrapbooking room and I'm rarely in there. I'm always reading blogs!

I am a computer addict so nuff said. I might go chuck some darts at a board for exercise occasionally!

Computer or read, but if you are seriously behind on your napping??
I used to think I was weird because I wanted alone time. Now the kids are all gone and I realize I can get more done with a little help!

I truly believe that we have reached the point where technology has become one with our society, and I am fairly certain that we have passed the point of no return in our relationship with technology.

I don't mean this in a bad way, of course! Societal concerns aside... I just hope that as memory gets cheaper, the possibility of downloading our brains onto a digital medium becomes a true reality. It's one of the things I really wish I could experience in my lifetime.
