So Grateful Sunday

I am blessed. Truly. And today I would like to take the time to count my blessings. I've declared today SO GRATEFUL SUNDAY. It might appear next week or I might forget all about it. But today I am counting my blessings.

Of course no blessing count would be complete without acknowledging my biggest and most cherished blessings: My Harley Stud, Daughters #1 and #2, my parents, my siblings, My Daisy, my inlaws (all of them), Mayzie and Pixie, my very large extended family and of course last but not least my friends. Those are a given.

While I am always grateful for the afore-mentioned blessings that make my life complete, today I am counting the simple joys in my life that add a little kick and make it interesting. (at least to me)

  1. The sound of my coffee maker. It has a built in grinder and sounds like a 747 is landing in the kitchen. I love it.
  2. The smell of fresh mown grass.
  3. My convertible. This is the best time of year for a top-down drive. (At least when there is not a hurricane brewing out there)
  4. The inlet. One of my favorite places to go. MHS knows if he wants to make me happy, he can take me there and all the stress just falls away into the water as I watch the boats come in and go out, count crabs on the rocks, and peer into the fisherman's buckets to see their catch of the day.
  5. My ipod. Oh, the places it can take me when I completely zone out and tune in.
  6. Blogging and the new friends it has given me.
  7. Cooking for friends and family. It's usually good too. But even when it's not, we always have a good time.
  8. My neighbors' nanny goats. They make me smile.
  9. Nanny Goats in Panties. She makes me laugh. Even though sometimes I have no idea what she is talking about. (Yeah, I did it. I ended a sentence in a preposition. I'm a rebel like that sometimes. But I'm Hoosier-born. It's in my blood)
  10. FSU football and the 2-0 stats we have so far this season. GO NOLES!

What are the blessings for which you are grateful today?

Give Credit Where Credit is Due

I would like to thank Thistle, whose post prompted me to create "So Grateful Sunday".

Great post! Truly, it is important to stop and smell the flowers (and count the blessings) from time to time to remind us that life is more than work and home chores. I love the smell of fresh coffee; although I don't drink it, I could smell it all day. I like the smell of mown grass, also. When you said "nanny goats," all I could think of was that childhood taunt, "nanny, nanny, nanny goat!" LOL

I'd have to add to the simple joys list:

The smell of the ocean
The smell of babies
Chocolate chip cookies baking
A really good book to read, and looking forward to reading it.

A perfect day for me would to have a house on the beach, where you can step outside the back door onto the beach, and sitting in a beach chair on a beautiful day and read a book. Ahhhhhhh...

Mama, I'm with you. I like all those things too. And MHS doesn't drink coffee either but loves the smell.

Thistle,Hey, I knew I read that special day thing somewhere, but alas, forgot where. It's that midlife thing again. I have to give credit where credit is due.
I do love a sunny Sunday morning and we have one today. Ahhh, Indian summer, I remember that from my Indiana days but no such thing here in Florida. Or maybe I should say we have Indian summer for 6 months? And I truly relate on the co-worker thing. LOL

Whatloknows, I will do just that. Hey, maybe we're cousins. LOL

Lynn,I know what you mean, I'll probably forget by next Sunday to do it again. I'm jealous you got to see your college DD.

I am so tired right now. I am grateful it is (finally) almost time where I can get some sleep. I am always grateful for the ocean and the peace it brings me. I am grateful for my family. Also? I want your coffee maker. That would be envy I guess.

24, Yes, sleep is GOOD. and that coffee maker, yep, it's a goody!

Where have I been all day? I didn't know you had a new post up until now and it's 10:30 p.m.
I'd have to say that today I'm grateful for too many things to list so mostly I'm grateful that I've got so many things to be grateful for.
Oh, and it's not a bad thing to end a sentence with a preposition, I do it all the time and I know it. I'm a rebel like that too.

Oh, I almost forgot......I'm grateful to have made friends with you via this weird and wonderful world of blogging.

Hey wow, thanks for the mention!

It's always good to stop and count our blessings once in a while, and I'm not just saying that because because I happen to be on this week's list!

(Why does that punch line sound so familiar?)

I love this post!

Some for me...

Reading bedtime stories to my youngest son.

Cheering at my older son's soccer games.

The Redskins game winning touchdown.

Oh yeah and actually blogging about something others are interested in, resulting in making some great friends in the blogging world!

NGIP - Probably because you're on everyone's list! LOL

Fancy - Oh yes, the bedtime stories, how I miss them. And one thing you and I seem to always agree on is to be thankful for FOOTBALL!

Thanks for the credit for your 'special day', but to be fair I found the gratitude day on someone else's site...just have no idea where as i was surfing bigtime that day at *ahem* work and couldn't shortcut it to go back to...maybe Pioneer Woman...just not sure...

Thistle - Oh well, I got the inspiration from you and that's all that matters to me. Thanks.

I am so grateful to have power after 9 days following Ike's visit!

And, it's convertible weather for me, too. At least that's what I pretend when I'm stuck in the minivan.
