Blessings, another "B"

There is an alphabet meme circulating the blogosphere. I love memes. Maybe not as much as Thistle but I do love memes. I think they are a great way to get to know more about the blogger. I did the alphabet meme in December and my very good friend, Midlife Slices, gave me the letter "K". At first I thought that was a pretty hard letter but once I got started it didn't seem too bad. This time I've asked Nothing Fancy to give me another letter and she was kind enough to give me the letter "B".

The first thing that comes to mind when I think of words that start with the letter "B" are boobs, butts and bellies. My children went to public school. They had very strict dress codes in elementary and middle school. So I thought it was funny that once they reached high school, the only dress code was that they weren't allowed to show their boobs, butts or bellies. By the time D2 was a senior, they decided to go with uniforms but until that time the only rule was that you couldn't show the three "B"s.

The rules for this meme are that I am to list ten things I love that start with "B". If you would like to participate, leave me a comment and I will assign you a letter.

There are so many things I love that start with "B", it was actually hard to narrow it down to ten. But here they are:

  1. The Bible: No explanation necessary. Life's little instruction booklet.
  2. Balls, as in ball de foot, aka football. I love football. Not necessarily NFL but I love college and high school football. OK, I do love the Colts and Peyton Manning. I also love basketball. My team is the Pacers. I know they are bad boys but I'm an Indiana girl and I love my Indiana teams. And I love baseball. THE CHICAGO CUBS! I know, I know. I've learned to live with disappointment. Last but not least, I love bourbon balls. My mother used to make the best bourbon balls. I really need to look for that recipe.
  3. Bauer as in Jack. I love me some 24. I still have to catch up with the earlier seasons but I've been a devoted fan for the last three. Whatever you do, don't call me on Monday nights after 9pm.
  4. Bobby Bowden. FSU football coach. He just signed yesterday for another year. Jimbo Fisher is going to have to remain the coach in waiting for at least one more year.
  5. My Blackberry aka crackberry but that starts with "c". The things that this phone can do never cease to amaze me. I'm pretty sure that it would make me coffee in the morning if I only knew how to program it.
  6. The beach. I love the beach and I don't get there enough.
  7. Blue eyes. MHS has blue eyes. My kids have blue eyes. I even have blue eyes. Do you know that if my children had any other eye color than blue, MHS would have grounds for divorce. True story. Two blues always make blue. It was even on Jeopardy. I just love it when I know the answer.
  8. Breakfast at Tiffany's. This is one of my all time favorite movies. I just love Holly Golightly. I wish that was my name. Isn't that a great name?
  9. Books. I love to read and own hundreds of books. My favorite authors of late are Vince Flynn, Nelson DeMille and the ever popular John Grisham.
  10. Brad Paisley. I love the humor in his lyrics and the fact that he is a great musician. And he is married to that cute girl from Father of the Bride.

So there you have it. Ten things I love that start with "B".

If you would like to play along, leave me a comment and I will send you a letter right away. Or when I get around to it. Which ever comes first.

Hmmm...yes i do love a meme don't i LOL...

but boobs, butts and bellies?...methinks that might be a great rule to live by for those of us who are *cough* no longer school age ;)

I love memes too. That's what got me used to posting and meeting people out here in bloggy land. I did this not too long ago with the letter T and it was really fun!

I can't even believe I've never watched Breakfast at Tiffany's. I have got to fix that.

Oh, Great and Mighty SMB, help me learn how to use my Blackberry Pearl.

I'll even sob if it will make you pity me enough to figure that &%@$ing thing out.

I got The Young One an LG touch screen phone that flips open to a full qwerty keyboard for his birthday and now I want to trade with him. He's hidden it, the rotten little fink.

Thistle-You're the Queen of Memes.
I absolutely agree about the No BBB rule. For all ages for that matter. (at least most of the time) I found it interesting and a little disturbing that once the kids had developed to actually have something to cover up, that is when the dress code relaxed at school.

BV-I agree, it's a wonderful way to get to know more about people. You have got to see Breakfast at Tiffany's. Go now!

VM-I'm trying to keep it short these days but sometimes I just can't shut up.

Jan-What would you like to know? I'll be happy to help....if I can.
It's funny but I can't figure out all the other phones.

BRG-Don't forget D1 and D2's favorite: BAH!

What a great list of "B's"!

Great list, especially "boobs, butts and bellies", as in 'wish I had some, mine could be firmer and I wish it would go away...all in that order! I did this meme awhile back as well, but I'm game again......give me a letter, Girl!

Are we the same person?
1. Bible - of course.
2. Balls - You know I agree here!
3. Bauer - YEP!
4. I'll change this one to Beamer, as in Frank Beamer of VT.
5. Our only miss...I dont have one.
6. Beach - YEP!
7. Blue Eyes - YEP..Me, Blue Eyes( of course) and even H!
8. Bfast... - yep
9. Books - Oh yeah.
10. Paisley - yeppers!

Man...B was easy. Too easy. Darn.

Boobs, butts and bellies! You made me choke when you put the word "balls" by itself first.

Love your list SMB

I played this meme back in December and had the letter D - it was harder than I thought it would be, but then, like you said, once I got rolling, things started to come...Dad, Dirt (my husband), Disciples (Jesus' Disciples), Dimples...etc..

You have a great list of Bs! Fun meme!!

Midlife Slices said...

What a coincidence!! I abide by that same dress code.

Great B's there, Mrs. Broad....and not in the wide sense.

I told NF I'd take letter but I'll also take a letter from you. I'm being lazy this week with my posts so that will give me two freebies. :)

Smart Mouth Broad said...

Smiles-Why, thank you.

YC-I know what you mean.

Oh and, your letter is "H". Have fun and thanks for playing.

Fancy-I think we might be. That's cool with me. Does that mean I get a skinny neck too. I have this awful football player neck that is not too pretty. *wink*

Pseudo-Oh gosh, I didn't even think of that. You know....because I'm so pure of heart and all.

T5M-It just takes a little bit of thought and then I came up with more than I needed.

MLS-LOL. Because I love you so much and it's almost Valentine's Day, I'm giving you "V". No pickle posts tho, ok?

I would love a letter, thanks! And great list. I love most of those Bs, also. Books, Beaches, and Brad Paisley especially. :) And yep, I love me some Bauer, also. I was so disappointed I missed the first couple of episodes of the new 24!!! I had them all TiVo'd but apparently I'd accidentally forgotten to change the setting to "save until I delete" and it was set to "delete when DVR is full" and so they both disappeared before I could watch them! :(( I was so disappointed. I'll have to figure out where I can get them to watch them. *sigh*

Great list - I love Jack Bauer too - but I haven't watched lately...

Smart Mouth Broad said...

Mama-Did you know you can watch full episodes of this season online? It's that way with most shows now. Unless you are talking about the 24 movie that aired in Nov and then again just before season 7 started. I don't think that is online but maybe I just haven't found it.

Movie-Oh this season is so good. You have to catch up. Watch online. IMHO, of course.

Oh, dear. I am lost through most of your list.

With you on the Bible, but I am fussy about the version. And though some of it is good instruction indeed, I am guessing you don't live by it all.

Balls were the bane of my childhood. The teacher said, "Keep your eye on the ball!" I looked up and it hit me and broke my glasses.

I do know who Jack Bauer is... I saw that program once with my son. It was quite riveting, but I was disturbed by the violence.

No clue about number 4. Never heard of him!

Ah, Blackberry...I support a different technology, but if you are talking email on the move, I am with you.

I love the beach. And I gotta love blue eyes because me too. I love blue eyes and black hair best because I once had a friend with that extraordinary combination.

I love Breakfast at Tiffany's! I love Audrey Hepburn. I especially love Moon River, even though that's an M.

Books are good. Very good, though I have only ever heard of one of your authors! But Brad Paisley? Who he? And I don't even know what Father of the Bride is either.

Do I need to resign from blogging or take a reeducation course? Honestly, I don't think I am all that old, but I am a little foreign. And I was never cool.

How strange that people can live in such different worlds and yet be in the same world.

hi ya,
I'll bite, letter me.

Smart Mouth Broad said...

Mama-I got so caught up in Jack Bauer, I forgot to give you a letter. I hereby assign you with the letter "L".

Duchess-My favorite version of the is the NIV.
Sorry about your glasses.
I love the justice in 24. The bad guy gets what's coming to him.
Bobby Bowden is the football coach for Florida State University and has been since 1976. He is 79 years old.
Brad Paisley is a country music singer and I'm suspecting no self-respecting Brit would be caught dead listening but I could be wrong. Father of the Bride 1 and 2 were great movies with Steve Martin, Diane Keaton and Martin Short. Very cute!
We do live in very different worlds but I think that's what it makes this whole bloggy thing so great.

WW-You just bit off the letter "C".

I just can't wait to see who all comes to this post to see what that title is really about! You just have to tell us.

Ah ha....I've figured it out. You are trying to spice up your search terms so you can rival my pickle people. This should be very interesting. LOL

MLS-Damn! You caught me.

Braja-Oh, man! I knew I forgot something. Blame it on the hormones!

Swampy-You wear boxers? *wink*

WW-Well done!

Great post but I was expecting something totally different.

I never knew that about blue eyes.

I think I will have to go back and watch Breakfast at Tiffany's again. I'm not sure I got it because people love it and it was a little depressing for me. Although, Ms. Hepburn did look fabulous.

I HEART Brad Paisley. He probably makes up 10% of my ipod all by himself. Love it love it love it!
