WHERE THERE’S A WILL, THERE’S A WAY

Our dog, Mayzie, has a doggie bed that stays in front of the fireplace in the family room. At night she sleeps on the floor on my side of the bed. She has her own special comforter that I fold and she unfolds daily. Pixie, the little princess, sleeps on the bed.

My Harley Stud made the mistake of putting the comforter from our bed on the treadmill one night and she found it to be ever so much more comfy than her “crappy old comforter”. (Her words, not mine)

The next morning while sorting laundry, I put our comforter in a laundry basket so that I could wash the dog smell out of it. I had a lot of laundry to do and the comforter didn’t make it into the washing machine that day. When it came time to go to bed, MHS and I went through the lights out, lock doors ritual (and by MHS and I, I really mean him. That’s why I got married.) which is our queue to the dogs that it’s time to retire for the night.

When we got to the bedroom, this is what we found:

A perfect fit, don’t you think?

Awww...instant love for that dog! Only the sweetest dog on earth would do that! So cozy! (don't say anything..but it looks like a bit of a tight fit...so..I have to know...what did you do? Mine sleeps with me..yes UP one the bed. Sorry...my dog hears more than I do..and it makes me feel safe. So..anyway...did Mayzie get to sleep with you that night??? Just askin'....

I hope you let her keep it for heaven sakes since it's obvious she needs it for security.. or she has fallen in deep like with it.

Our dogs each have their own beds in the family room... we just walk around them and I wash the blankets that cover them at least once a week... more often when the weather is wet. They snore so loud that we can't allow them to sleep in our bedroom with us at night....

They are spoiled rotten and we would not have it any other way. Mayzie is adorable.

Oh man....I could love that dog.

You know that's her's now, right? You might as well get a new one cause you ain't gettin that one back.

You won't do that again now, will you? :)

Sweet. I love dogs. Mayzie is almost as good a name as Pixie.

I have to agree with Midlife Slices on this one - just go buy a new comforter, because you ain't EVER getting that one back.

El Numero Uno reason Scooter is not allowed in our bedroom - he's not getting within 10 feet of my expensive Amish quilt.

OMG! That's the cutest thing I've seen! What a sweetheart! Okay...surely you realize that the comforter doesn't belong to you anymore, right? At least she was polite enough not to claim your bed, right!

So, what color are you going to get for your bed? Trying something different or going for the same so that Mayzie's new bed will match yours?

Love it all!

Awwww...too, too sweet! I think Mayzie needs a slightly larger "bed" and you need a new comforter:)

Oh those dogs are just ingenious aren't they? That picture is adorable! What that shows me is a dog that is very "comfort"-able in her own home....otherwise she wouldn't have even tried that little trick!

I'm in the camp that says she is too bonded with that to take it away from her. How cute is that photo?

Yep, it is now officially hers. You can't take that away from her since she obviously loves it and needs it. That pic is priceless and she looks so cute and sad at the same time. How could you possibly take away her new blankie?

Love her, such a sweetie.

She looks very cozy on YOUR (now her)comforter.

This is hysterical, I love it. :) Mayzie is adorable!

I have to agree with the others, she was polite enough to just claim the comforter, not the bed.

Looks like a good excuse to buy a new comforter or blanket for the bed, for summer of course... I love The Company Store personally. :)

I love that dog! If you don't give her that comforter then I am reporting you to the Humane Society and PETA.

She is so darn cute! It amazes me how large dogs think they can "fit" inside small places. Like the time my 80 lb. lab mix tried getting into my mom's toy poodle bed. We laughed until we were crying :)! I couldn't live without my animals.
